RedHill Biopharma Acquires Global and U.S. Commercialization Rights to Ferring's Rebyota (Fecal Microbiota) and Clenpiq for $12 Million Upfront Plus Royalties

RedHill Biopharma (NASDAQ: RDHL) announced Tuesday September 1, 2026 an exclusive global commercialization license for Rebyota (fecal microbiota, live-jslm) and an exclusive U.S. commercialization license for Clenpiq (sodium picosulfate, magnesium oxide, and citric acid oral solution for colonoscopy bowel preparation) from Ferring Pharmaceuticals, for an upfront payment of $12 million plus tiered royalties on net sales and potential milestones. Rebyota is the first-in-class FDA-approved microbiota-based therapy for the prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection in adults 18+ following antibiotic treatment (approved November 2022), generating approximately $16.9 million in 2025 U.S. net sales. The two products collectively generated approximately $37.5 million in 2025 U.S. net sales. Ferring retains Rebyota manufacturing and continues supply under the agreement. Not a peptide, but the transaction matters for the peptide-microbiome intersection: RedHill's expanded GI franchise now anchors the microbiome-therapy category alongside Vedanta's VE303, Seres Therapeutics' VOWST/SER-109, and the emerging peptide-antimicrobial and postbiotic categories.
