Consumer data firm Numerator estimates that 12.3 million U.S. households include someone who has stopped a GLP-1 weight-loss drug, Food Business News reported. In the 12 months ended September 30, spending per household by these lapsed users fell 15% at Subway, 6.8% at Arby's, 4.5% at Domino's, and 1.8% at McDonald's, while it rose 3.2% at Costco and 1.3% at Walmart; their overall grocery spending fell 1.8%, compared with 2.6% for households still on the drugs. Numerator's quarterly tracker drew more than 95,000 survey responses linked to purchase data.
