Worldwide Google searches for 'peptides' rose from about 1.3 million per month in 2024 to around 8 million in 2026, fueled by social media. Most popularly promoted compounds (BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, CJC-1295) rest on animal data, with one human study described as showing 'significant methodological problems and no control group.' The piece lands two months before the July 23-24 PCAC meeting that will rule on whether seven of these peptides can return to legal 503A compounding.
