Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 are the most popular growth hormone secretagogue pair in peptide therapy (a secretagogue is a compound that prompts the body to release a hormone). CJC-1295 copies GHRH, the hormone that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone, while ipamorelin mimics ghrelin and sets off short bursts of growth hormone. Used together, they produce a growth hormone response 3–5x greater than either alone. They also avoid the cortisol and prolactin spikes seen with older drugs in this class, such as GHRP-6.
CJC-1295 comes in two versions: No DAC (Mod GRF 1-29) lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours in the body and needs daily injections. With DAC lasts 6–8 days and needs only 1–2 injections a week. Clinics pair the No DAC version with ipamorelin far more often.
Regulatory status (April 2026): Neither peptide is FDA-approved. In late 2024, the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC) recommended against adding CJC-1295 and ipamorelin to the 503A bulks list. That list sets which ingredients pharmacies may use in patient-specific compounding, and the FDA has not issued a final decision. Many compounding pharmacies still offer both peptides despite the uncertainty, and an FDA reclassification panel set for July 2026 may settle the question. Insurance does not cover these peptides.
