Ozempic Pricing: September 2026

Ozempic costs $199 a month for a new self-pay patient's first two fills, then $349. That NovoCare Pharmacy price covers the 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, and 1 mg pens, while the 2 mg pen is $499. People with commercial insurance and a savings card, Novo Nordisk's coupon for private plans, pay as little as $25, and Medicare pays about $245 a month under the most-favored-nation deal, with a $50 copay for the patient. The list price, called the wholesale acquisition cost or WAC, is still $1,027.51 a month, and it falls to $675 on January 1, 2027.

Since May there is also an Ozempic pill. Novo launched oral Ozempic tablets for type 2 diabetes nationwide on May 4, 2026, in 1.5 mg, 4 mg, and 9 mg strengths, and NovoCare self-pay runs $149, $199, and $299 a month by dose, the same ladder as the Wegovy pill. Novo's August report describes the launch as a re-branding of Rybelsus, its older semaglutide tablet. A 25 mg tablet is under FDA review, with a decision expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The $199 starter offer was extended, not ended. Novo's November 17, 2025 launch release set a March 31, 2026 end date, later pushed to June 30, but NovoCare's pages now run the offer through December 31, 2026, limited to two monthly fills for patients new to NovoCare. TrumpRx.gov, the federal price-listing site from the November 6, 2025 pricing deal, shows Ozempic at $199 a month against a $1,028 list price and routes patients to the same NovoCare offer.

Novo's August 4 report shows the price squeeze. Global Ozempic sales were DKK 31.4 billion in the second quarter, up 5% at constant exchange rates, but first-half sales were down 2%. US Ozempic sales rose 2% only because of one-time rebate adjustments; Novo said realized prices and volumes both fell. Wegovy injectable sales were DKK 19.5 billion, up 1%, with US sales down 22% on price. CEO Mike Doustdar told CNBC on August 5 that Novo is hunting for a "sweet spot" between price and volume, and shares dropped about 5%.

Ozempic is not in the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. The Bridge covers obesity drugs (Wegovy, Zepbound, Foundayo) for a $50 copay, while Ozempic stays under regular Part D coverage for diabetes.
