Wegovy Pricing: September 2026

The cheapest way to get Wegovy in September 2026 depends on who pays. Medicare patients who qualify for the GLP-1 Bridge pay a $50 copay for any Wegovy dose, while people with commercial insurance and a savings card, Novo Nordisk's coupon for private plans, pay as little as $25 a month. Self-pay patients start at $199 a month for two fills through NovoCare Pharmacy, then move to $349 for the standard pen or $399 for the Wegovy HD 7.2 mg pen. The list price, called the wholesale acquisition cost or WAC, is still $1,349.02 a month, though almost no one pays it.

Three things changed since the April guide. The $199 starter offer did not end on June 30: Novo extended it through December 31, 2026, but capped it at two monthly fills for patients new to NovoCare. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge went live on July 1, 2026. It covers every Wegovy pen dose, including 7.2 mg, and every pill dose for a flat $50 copay through December 31, 2027. Novo's 3-, 6-, and 12-month subscriptions, launched March 31, are still sold through Ro, WeightWatchers, and LifeMD, and a 12-month plan brings the pen to $249 a month, paid upfront.

Government pricing runs on a separate track. Under the November 6, 2025 most-favored-nation deal, Medicare pays about $245 a month for Wegovy and the patient pays $50. TrumpRx.gov, the federal price-listing site from that deal, now shows the Wegovy pen at $199 a month and the pill at $149, which are the same NovoCare starter prices. The November 2025 announcement described a $350 starting price for injectables, trending down to $245 over two years; the live TrumpRx listing is already below that. A separate Medicare price from the Inflation Reduction Act negotiation, $274 a month, starts January 1, 2027.

Novo's own numbers show why cash prices keep falling. In its August 4 report, Novo said US Wegovy injectable sales fell 22% in the second quarter on lower realized prices, even as volume grew. In mid-July, about 120,000 of roughly 310,000 weekly US Wegovy pen prescriptions were filled self-pay. CEO Mike Doustdar told CNBC on August 5 that the company is looking for a "sweet spot" between price and volume; Novo shares fell about 5% after the report.
